Aggreko protect with Piller Rental UPS, Power supply for temporary Media center in Gdansk.

The European Football Championship 2012 starts shortly and the preparations are running. Especially for radio and television broadcast is this kind of event a logistical and technical mega project. At times, where HD image quality are common standard, especially reliable electrical systems are a key to success.

While the football games are broadcasted directly from the stadium by mobile broadcast trucks, a media and broadcast center will is being built near the Gdansk team quarters of the national German soccer team, to report immediately about anything  that happens around the German team.  Furthermore, daily reports and interviews about the training will be broadcasted from the temporary media studio.

For this purpose, conference and office tents for about 300 people and the necessary broadcast technology are built and installed. 

In order to ensure that everything can be produced and sent without interruptions, Aggreko Germany has chosen a temporary rental UPS (Uninterruptible power supply) from Piller.

The rotary UPS with 500kVA power is containerised, it filters any kind of disturbances and, in case of mains failures, supplies the load with a battery system without any break.  For long-term mains interruptions a mobile Diesel emergency generator is started automatically. This system can handle any disturbance in the main grid safe, so that we can enjoy the football event of the year at home, without any trouble.
