Piller selected for the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013

Piller, Milan 24 February 2012. Trentino, Italy, is in the heart of the Dolomites, part of the Alps, where traces of ancient history and culture have been preserved. So it’s no coincidence that the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 will take place in Val di Fiemme, renowned for its centre of excellence, on 20 February to 3 March, for the third time having hosted the event there previously in 1991 and 2003.

The events organizing committee will again trust its power protection to Piller having also installed Piller equipment in 2003.  For the forthcoming event Piller will be providing a UNIBLOCK UBTD containerised UPS system to safeguard power in the cross-country skiing Stadium, in particular the extensive facilities used by broadcasters, journalists, athletes, international delegations and the public to enjoy a warm and relaxing atmosphere.

 

A containerized Piller rotary Diesel UPS type UBTD 625 with a UNIBLOCK TM motor-generator will be employed at the event to protect the power supply to avoid power surges and distortion loads, typical to television broadcasting. Thanks to the kinetic energy storage POWERBRIDGE TM batteries won’t be necessary, allowing a reduction in space and a greater respect for the environment.
