Piller to supply UPS technology to three new data centers in USA
DuPont Fabros Technology, Inc. (DFT), a leading owner, developer, operator and manager of wholesale data centers in the United States, has once again chosen Piller to power and protect its three new sites; the next phase of DFT’s major data-center expansion project.
DFT offers a variety of data center solutions to clients seeking a secure and proven facility to house their IT operations. This new order will equip DFT’s 3 new facilities located in Virginia, New Jersey and California respectively
A total of 96 Piller Rotary UNIBLOCK™ rotary UPS units will ultimately be supplied totalling almost 130MW, enough to power approx. 120,000 homes! Delivery of the first half of the Piller UPS systems will commence in the fourth quarter of 2008 with completion of the projects in the third quarter of 2009.
President & CEO of Piller Inc. said “We are very proud to have been selected for the next phase of these high profile facilities. By offering Piller rotary technology, we were able to maintain our leading position in this market, which combined with our local strength in service and after sales support, helped DFT make this critical decision.”
In 2007, Piller completed their first DFT facility located in Northern Virginia supplying thirty-two (32) UNIBLOCK 1500kW™ modules each with associated switchgear and standby diesel generator sets. Known as ACC4 , this data center is considered to be DFT’s prototype for future ground-up development. Owing to its’ enhanced power capacity and flexible design, both smaller and larger tenants can be accommodated in a single facility, providing them with a total of 36.4 megawatts of power.
