CleanSource® PLUS UPS is now Seismic-Certified
Pillers Active Power division, the leader in flywheel-based UPS systems, proudly announces that its CleanSource® PLUS (CS+) Single Module (SMS) and Multi-Module (MMS) systems have received OSHPD/HCAI OSP-0829 pre-approval.
Both systems meet California’s highest standards for seismic performance, ensuring they remain fully operational even after the most severe earthquakes.
Built to Perform Under Pressure
Certified to withstand seismic accelerations up to an SDS of 2.5, the CS+ systems underwent extensive shake table testing, maintaining full structural integrity and operational performance following the simulated earthquake event.
Why It Matters
Earthquakes have been recorded in all 50 U.S. states, with around 10 moderate events every year. As the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) continues to update seismic maps, the need for resilient infrastructure across the country has never been clearer.
Compliance You Can Trust
CleanSource® PLUS systems meet the strictest California Building Code (CBC) and ASCE standards for non-structural components in seismic zones offering peace of mind for hospitals, data centers, and other critical facilities.
Leadership Perspective
“Our customers count on us when every second matters – and that includes after earthquakes,” said Jack Pearce, CEO of Active Power. “Earning this certification shows just how well-built our systems are. They’re engineered to endure the harshest seismic forces and keep protecting the mission-critical operations that rely on them.”
