Piller Singapore to supply UPS to Korean Telecom Datacenter

Piller Power Singapore was awarded with two orders for Korean Telecom

Korea Telecom (KT), a leading owner, developer, operator and manager of telecommunication and data centers in Korea, has chosen Piller Power Singapore to deliver 3x rotary Diesel UPS Systems, type UNIBLOCK UBTD 1600 kVA, to their data center in Busan and another 6x UBTD 1600 kVA for the load protection of their Chenoan data center.

The commissioning of both projects is scheduled for the 2nd quarter of 2012.

Frank Berner, Piller Territory Sales Manager, explained: “KT revised their previous static UPS design and goes for Diesel-backed, rotary UPS made in Germany. The decision was based on the comparison of performance advantages and analysis of TCO (Total cost of ownership) between Piller’s DRUPS technology and competitive concepts. KT realized that Piller provides an optimum of technical performance, combined with an economically leading concept.”

To keep and to develop Korean market further, Piller will provide his customers a comprehensive after sales support for the UPS system through network of international and locally qualified service staff.

“As well as providing technical consultation and customer/operator training for our UPS systems, our staff can carry out fault analysis, troubleshooting, remote system diagnosis and support, functional testing and maintenance”.
