Piller France to protect France's largest datacentre
Global Switch has selected Piller to provide up to 20 MW of power conditioning for the nearly 10 000 m2 high density extension of their current data centre in Clichy (Paris). PILLER France is part of the consortium that will build and deliver turnkey the new data centre to Global Switch.
The project will run over 18 months with the first phase going live in 2011 with six of Piller’s high capacity UBTD 2500kVA (2MW single output) medium voltage diesel rotary UPS systems to be installed. A further 4 machines will be installed as the data centre’s power requirement increases. In total the 10 machines will provide 20 MW of high quality power.
Guillaume Lafont, Managing Director of Piller France said “We are proud we were able to meet our customer stringent requirements both in terms of machine performance and extremely low footprint: 20 MW of diesel UPS power installed over less than 770m2 (energy storage included). This order, coming as PILLER France is commissioning 8 x UBTD 2500 kVA (dual output) for Electricité de France’s new strategic data centre testifies to the strength of Piller’s solutions for these very large data centres.”
Piller already have similar equipment on a smaller scale with the same client in the existing data centre. As with all Piller power conditioning systems, the equipment will be built at Piller's facilities in Germany - the most comprehensive of their kind in the world. Piller France SAS will carry out the turn-key installation and commissioning and provide service for the equipment once handed over.
